The police department has faced criticism since the investigation, over claims that the officer did not do enough to find the girl.

Forest Hill officials tell WFAA-TV that that the officer was placed on leave as part of an internal investigation into the handling of the case.

Meantime, six new charges of sexual assault were slapped on the kidnapping suspect, Michael Webb this week. Webb is accused of grabbing the girl as she walked with her mother in their their Fort Worth neighborhood on May 18th.

In Dallas, it was another reported case of a child being grabbed from his mother.

Police say the attempted abduction happened early Wednesday morning in East Dallas about 12:30 a.m. on Woodmeadow Parkway.

The boy’s mother told officers she was with her child when a stranger grabbed him and took off running. she told police that her son was able to escape and ran back to her.

Police have no description of the alleged kidnapper who took off before they arrived.
Dallas fire-rescue treated the child for minor injuries to his hand and wrist.
