ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF News) – Arlington police are among several North Texas law enforcement agencies investigating a string of thefts at area Starbucks.
In the last few months, there have been several incidents of unsuspecting customers reporting to police their Apple Macbook laptops had been stolen.
Investigators said the suspects stand by customers sitting with their laptops, grab the computers and then run out of the store into an awaiting car.
Detective Mike Wilson said they’ve had eight incidents since January and there’s some evidence captured on video.
“Other agencies have also provided some video footage and some suspect leads. I’ve reached out to Starbucks,” said Detective Mike Wilson.
The first suspect is as a black man, 19-20 years old, 6’00” tall, 125 pounds, clean shaven, wearing a black coat and black athletic pants with red stripes.
The second suspect is described as a black man, 19-20 years old, 5’07” tall, 125 pounds, wearing a gray Nike hoodie, gray sweatpants, and gray Nike shoes.
Starbucks in Grand Prairie, University Park and Garland have also been hit.
