Dallas (WBAP.KLIF) A proposal to change the name of Olive Street in front of the American Airlines Center after retired Dallas Mavs Player Dirk Nowitzki is a step closer to reality. A Dallas review committee approved the name change. The proposal now goes before the City Plan commission in August. the full city council is expected to vote on the measure in September. Nowitzki retired from the team in April after playing for the Mavs for 21 years,
