New Details in Texas Voter Rolls Scandal

Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – A leaked batch of e-mails suggests Governor Greg Abbott was the one spearheading a botched mission to eliminate roughly 100-thousand voters from the state’s voter rolls.

Former interim Secretary of State David Whitley was originally blamed for the effort, which resulted in an overwhelming number of those voters being legal voters due to an oversight in how the driver license process works.

But e-mails released by the league of United Latin American Citizens show Texas DPS officials saying the governor wanted it done as soon as possible, even before Whitley was appointed.

The governor’s office denies the claim, saying no one speaks for them other than themselves.
