WASHINGTON (WBAP/KLIF News) – A delegation from Mexico is in Washington D.C. Wednesday in an effort to negotiate an alternative to President Trump’s plan to impose tariff’s on all goods from Mexico June 10th.
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador sent the largest delegation of people including government officials and business leaders since he took office in December, according to the Associated Press.
Trump announced the tariff’s would start at 5% would gradually increase to 25% by October if Mexico does not do more to curb the rising number of Central American migrants coming to the southern border.
Mexico is sending a big delegation to talk about the Border. Problem is, they’ve been “talking” for 25 years. We want action, not talk. They could solve the Border Crisis in one day if they so desired. Otherwise, our companies and jobs are coming back to the USA!

Mexico is the U.S.’ largest trading partner and accounts for billions of dollars in trade annually.
Since the announcement, there’s been a growing opposition among the GOP about Trump’s decision.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday, “There’s not much support in my conference for tariffs, that’s for sure,” according to the Associated Press.
Last week, a U.S. Chamber of Commerce senior official declared it’s “exactly the wrong move.”
