DALLAS – WBAP/KLIF – Humane Society of North Texas says it’s giving medical treatment to 53 small dogs, mostly Yorkies and Shih Tzu;s, found held in breeding cages in a Cooke County residence. Cassie Lackey of HSNT says the injuries to the animals are significant, and some have given birth since the dogs were given shelter, as called for by the Cooke County Sheriff Department.
Lackey says the dog’s injuries and conditions are extensive, as the dogs were found in “horrific conditions”. The names of those expected to be charged are likely to be released after a court date Monday. Lackey says conditions of the dogs will be detailed at that time.
