Fort Worth and Dallas Among Many Cities Nation-Wide to Participate in Rallies Against Abortion Bans

DALLAS/FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Fort Worth and Dallas were among many cities nation-wide to participate in pro-choice rallies Tuesday.

Hundreds of people gathered outside the Tarrant County Court House and Dallas City Hall holding signs, chanting and marching to take a stand on abortion laws. “I believe it’s not the governments place to be in our private decision making process, it’s between a woman, her family and her doctor,” said Fort Worth Resident Suki John. “If this country really cares about unborn children then they should show it by caring about children who are already born,” she said.

The rallies took place in town halls and courthouses throughout the country to ask local lawmakers to stay clear of filing abortion bans like in Alabama and Georgia. Counter Protesters joined the rally too. “I am here in opposition to this movement, I’m here to protect the rights of the unborn children. Babies are still babies from the moment of conception and they shouldn’t be susceptible to murder,” said Terry Fish.

In some states, the new law in criminalizes the procedure as a Class A felony, punishable by up to 99 years in prison and is the most restrictive ban passed since Roe v. Wade.
