Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Tragic circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 65-year old woman in Oak Cliff overnight.
The woman was sleeping a car with her dogs on the front lawn of a family member’s home. She slept in her car because the relatives did not want the animals inside the house.
WFAA’s Mike Forbes tells us that relatives heard shots around midnight and went outside to find the woman bleeding from the chests, according to Dallas Police.
Dallas Police found the woman had a through-and-through chest wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The dogs were not hurt. The relatives took possession of the dogs.
It’s not known how long the woman has been sleeping in her car. Relatives told police that they had moved to the house about a month ago, and she had been sleeping in the car at that location on Grimmell Ave. since.
Police believe the incident to be a random shooting. Multiple shell casing were found in the middle of the street as well.
