New Braunsfels, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Residents along a once lakeside community in South Texas are coming to grips with a new reality. A partial dam collapse Tuesday at Lake Dunlap near New Braunsfels resulted in a complete draining of the lake.

Patty Gonzales with the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority told KVUE-TV/Austin that officials have been working with engineers to design new spill gates, and that the collapse was completely unexpected.
The dam in 91-years old.
