ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- Bowie Highschool, Arlington ISD Football Coach Danny DeArman reunited with the woman he carried out of floodwaters, and saved her from drowning last week. At a surprise peprally, Coach DeArman met Eden Russom who wanted to thank him for saving her life.
“The coolest part is getting to meet her, I said all along I was hoping to get that opportunity,” he said.
The video of DeArman saving Russom went viral so Russom was able to find out who he was. “I’m so excited, everything happened so fast I wasn’t able to thank him,” Russom said. Coach DeArman said this random act of kindness is part of the core values he teaches his football players. “This is an opportunity for them to use a real life experience in a way that’s serving others,” DeArman said. “If we concentrate on being serving leaders our world will be a completely different place,” he said.
DeArman got a plaque and was recognized by his football team and the entire school for being a hero.
