Tarrant Regional Water District Officials Need Community Help to Clean the Trinity River

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF0 – Every year litter fills the Trinity River. “We have a slogan that says any litter you drop on the ground will eventually make it to our waterways,” said  Brianna Morris with Tarrant County Water District. Morris said after a storm, you can see tons of trash and debris that collects from urban areas and roadside. Tarrant County Water District Officials are asking for community members to participate in ‘Trash Bash’ an event to help clean up trash in the Trinity River. The event is from 8:30-11 am September 15th. All you need to do is register, pick an assignment location and be ready to work. After the event, volunteers will be treated to an after party with free food at Panther Island Pavilion. They are expecting at least 5,000 participants.
