The weekend fire that charred more than 500 acres in Wise County, and caused a dozen firefighting agencies to be called in to help tap the blaze, is being investigated. Sheriff Lane Akin tells us it’s believed the fire started in a wrecking yard. The fire started in the area of County Road 2391 and Old Decatur Road. Akin says drones are being used to capture video and photographs to help fire investigators now on scene. The fire caused authorities to evacuate ten homes. He says they were saved because firefighters surrounded each home to put out flying embers as they landed on rooftops. Metroplex fire agencies joined the fight with other North Texas firefighters.
