FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – Progress on the construction of the new Dickies Arena in Fort Worth was celebrated Monday with a topping out ceremony.
Trail Drive Management Corp, the not-for-profit operators of Dickies Arena, and general contractors, The Beck Group, helped raise the final beam into place. The arena is expected to open in November, 2019.
The venue is expected to be a 14,000 seat, multipurpose venue located next to the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus. The facility is the result of a pioneering public-private partnership between the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, the State of Texas and a group of private-sector participants, including foundations, individuals and organizations.
“They knew a growing city needed a beautiful arena,” said Fort Worth Mayor, Betsy Price. “Not just for the Stock Show, but for concerts, for basketball, for graduations. You name it, we’ll have it here. This new arena is the perfect complement for our growing city.”
The arena will be owned by the City of Fort Worth and managed by the not-for-profit operating entity, Trail Drive Management Corporation. It will host concerts, sporting events, and will be the new home to Fort Worth Stock Show rodeo performances.
