Suspect Arrested After Social Media Threats to Frisco High School

FRISCO (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Frisco Police Department has arrested Dallas teenager who allegedly directed threats on social media to Frisco High School.

17-year-old Ronathan Livingston is charged with making a False Alarm or Report.

It’s a state felony charge that is punishable by up to 180 days to two years in jail.

Before the arrest, Frisco police beefed up security at the school.

“We’ve upped our manpower just as a precaution. We’re also trying to locate the subject, the person that actually made the threat,” said Officer Ryan Chandler.

Although police haven’t released specifics about the threat, school administrators sent a letter to parents that said the threat was made by a non Frisco ISD student.

“The individual in question is not an FHS student and will not be allowed on campus,” said Chandler.

This is one of the letters sent to parents.

Dear FHS Parents,

We want to inform you of information that was obtained early this morning. Last night, a non-Frisco ISD student made an apparent threat of violence on campus today.  The Frisco Police department was immediately contacted and an investigation is currently underway.  Again, the individual in question is not an FHS student and will not be allowed on campus.  To that end, Frisco Police will be stationed in the building and will remain on campus along with Frisco ISD security until the investigation is complete, to ensure the safety of our students.

Frisco Police and school staff responded swiftly and appropriately to secure the situation, increasing existing internal security measures at the school.   Frisco Police and Frisco ISD security will have additional resources at our campus until this is thoroughly investigated.

The safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority of Frisco High School and Frisco ISD.  I would like to commend our students for bringing this isolated event to our attention. I also appreciate your understanding the confidential nature of police investigations. We will remain vigilant in providing a safe school environment which is conducive to teaching and learning.

Please do not hesitate to contact my office if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Erin Miller

Principal
