(WBAP/KLIF) According to police, on February 18th, the Mesquite Police Department received a report of a teenage girl possibly being sexually assaulted. Their investigation led to the arrest of 33 year old Steven Aaron Winn. Winn was an Assistant Youth Pastor at Open Door Baptist Church in Mesquite, TX. Police say Winn had an ongoing sexual relationship with one 15-16 year old teenage girl over the last 14 months. The victim is reportedly a student at the church’s christian school. Winn was arrested and charged with six counts of sexual assault of a child.
Police reported on April 3rd, that the Lead Pastor Robert Arnold Ross was arrested and charged with one count of Persons Required to Report; Time to Report, (Texas Family Code Sec. 261.101), which is a class A misdemeanor – for failing to immediately report to police after finding out out about Winn’s actions in February.
