Affluenza Teen Given Strict Rules Ahead of Upcoming Jail Release

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) — Affluenza teenager Ethan Couch will be released from jail on April 2, but not without some rules.

A Tarrant County judge ruled that Couch will have to wear a GPS equipped ankle monitor at all times. He will also have to wear a substance abuse patch that will be changed out every 10 days to determine if he has been drinking.

Couch will not be able to drive, unless it is in a car that has a camera-equipped ignition interlock, which prevents the car from starting if he has been drinking. He also will not be allowed to take any medication unless it has been prescribed. A probation officer will be allowed to give Couch random drug tests.

Couch was sentenced to 720 days in jail after violating his probation by fleeing to Mexico with his mother. He killed four people in a drunken driving accident in 2013.
