DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – DART placed about 100 employees at train stations across the Metroplex Wednesday to encourage people to download their “Say Something” safety app.
Morgan Lyons is with DART and said the app is the perfect way for passengers to discretely followed the “See something, say something” mantra.
“That’s a term that’s used all over the country but being able to say something to us is critical,” he said.
DART is in the process of hiring enough officers to have one stationed on every train in the next six weeks in an effort to reduce crime.
“As much as we try to add officers, we can’t be everywhere. If a customer sees something out on the system, regardless of what it is, we want to know about it so we can act,” he said.
Lyons said the app has been downloaded 5500 times since its November launch and that DART Police have responded to thousands of reports made through it.
The app is available through iTunes and the Google Play store.
