Hurricane Relief Campaign Backed By Former Presidents Raises $41 Million Dollars

COLLEGE STATION  (WBAP/KLIF News) – A hurricane-relief campaign backed by all of the living former United States presidents has raised over $41 million for victims in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The George Bush Foundation’s David Jones said the fundraiser shows how Americans come together despite their differences when tragedy strikes.

Over 110,000 people donated to the fund.

“We are very grateful to all donors who contributed ten dollars to millions of dollars and to the top music artists who supported this special cause at our ‘Deep From the Heart’ concert in October,” he said.

The concert was held on the Texas A&M University campus at College Station in the wake of Hurricanes Harvey and Maria and featured artists such as Lady Gaga along with a myriad of other entertainers.

Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama attended the event.
