Garland Fire Spokesman Arrested On Drug Charges

GARLAND(WBAP/KLIF)- A Garland Fire Department employee is facing felony drug charges.

Garland Fire Department spokesman Merrill Balanciere was taken into custody Thursday morning after narcotics detectives allege to have found him along with his son Merrill Jr in possession of Xanax without a prescription.

The arrest occurred in a drug free zone at a home across the street from Cooper Elementary School. Garland Assistant Fire Chief Kelly Miller says they will conduct an administrative investigation to determine if there will be any disciplinary action taken against Balanciere.
