DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The wives of former NFL players met with Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall and Dallas County District Attorney Faith Johnson on Wednesday in hopes of moving past police protests and on to real solutions. According to our media partners WFAA-TV, the NFL wives plan on having similar meetings in all 32 cities that have NFL teams.

Johnson thinks the Dallas meeting will set a good example for the rest of the country.

“I think that the nation will look at us and say wow it can be done,” Johnson said. “Oh wow, that’s how you do it. I’m committed. I am so committed to us coming together in unity.”

Sherice Brown, wife of hall of fame wide receiver Tim Brown, wants people to feel secure when dealing with police.

“We want them to feel safe,” Brown said. “I want them to know that the police and law enforcement are here to protect them and not to hurt them.”

Another wife told WFAA, “I think the people need to understand, this isn’t drawing the line, its acknowledgement. That’s the beginning of the conversation. When we acknowledge there’s a problem we can say ‘okay, its on the table so we can work together’.”

The NFL wives felt encouraged after their meeting and hope it will bring solutions and healing.
