FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – A man accused of capital murder in 2015 has been released.
Anthony Michael Sanders, 33, of Watauga has been in jail awaiting trial for nearly a year and a half after being accused of suffocating his 2-year-old daughter Ellie Mae Sanders.
Now, investigators have learned that Sanders then 5-year-old son was actually responsible for his sisters death. He told his mother Cassie Wright that he hit her with a pillow and it was too heavy to get it off of her.
Sanders always denied harming his daughter and told police that she wasn’t breathing when he found her after his son told him she was asleep and wouldn’t wake up.
The case against Sanders has been dismissed and his attorney said it’s his understanding that no other charges will be coming.
