DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — President Trump has responded to the Dallas Cowboys’ decision to kneel before Monday night’s national anthem.
It was a mixed reaction from the president, who tweeted that the booing he heard when the entire Cowboys team took a knee was the loudest he’s ever heard.
The booing at the NFL football game last night, when the entire Dallas team dropped to its knees, was loudest I have ever heard. Great anger

But President Trump followed that tweet up with one saying big progress is being made, given that the team stood during the national anthem and was only kneeling before it.
But while Dallas dropped to its knees as a team, they all stood up for our National Anthem. Big progress being made-we all love our country!

President Trump also commented on the NFL’s ratings, saying they are way down, except for before the game when viewers want to see how teams handle the national anthem.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett both said the decision to kneel before the anthem and not during it was decided hours before kickoff and was an attempt to show a display of unity following the President’s comments last Friday, while also respecting the American flag.
