Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A baby was found Saturday afternoon abandoned in the restroom of a north Dallas convenience store.
The newborn infant was found in the 7-Eleven on Preston Road near Royal Lane. Police took the baby to a local hospital where it is now listed in good condition.
As of Monday morning, Dallas Police believe the baby was born in the 7-Eleven bathroom sometime Saturday between 6:00 am and 1:00 pm. They are investigating the whereabouts of the child’s mother.
In Texas, newborns younger than 60 days can be legally dropped off at “safe baby sites,” which are designated by a specific yellow sign. A Dallas fire station that serves as a Safe Baby Site was just down the road from the 7-Eleven where the child was found.
