PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News) — UPDATE: The cities of Plano, Rowlett and Garland said their 911 call systems are back to normal on Monday.
Plano, Rowlett and now Garland had troubles with their 911 call systems that started on Sunday. Each case was different.
T-Mobile customers in Plano have not been able to connect with 911 dispatchers. The Plano Police department posted to Facebook Sunday night that they’re working with T-Mobile to correct the problem. The same issue happened in Dallas earlier this year, where 911 callers would either get put on hold for excessive amounts of time or have their call dropped altogether.
One family sued T-Mobile, saying it led to the death of their six-month-old boy.
Plano Police told residents who are a T-Mobile customers that needed to contact the police or fire department with an emergency, to call 972-424-5678.
The Rowlett Police Department also said Monday morning that they were experiencing issues connecting callers with 911 dispatchers, though they said their problems span across all carriers — not just T-Mobile. In this case, when someone calls 911 it turned into what they describe as a “ghost call”, meaning the dispatcher answers the call and no one is on the other line and no data is being transmitted.

The department said it started Sunday afternoon however, dispatchers have been able to return the calls and get back in touch with the callers.
