DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — Dallas police said the suspect who allegedly fired at officers and barricaded himself inside an Oak Cliff apartment was arrested.
Police and SWAT surrounded the Rosemont Apartments near Overton and Illinois for more than five hours Thursday morning after officers attempted to serve a felony assault warrant and were shot at through the door.
Major Jimmy Vaughan said they tried negotiating and using multiple flash bang grenades during the standoff.
“That was to allow the individuals inside to know that we’re still out here, that we’re not going away and that our SWAT Team is in place,” he said.
Vaughan said officers detained 3 to 4 people who came out of the apartment…including the suspect. Though, at the time of the standoff investigators did not know that the alleged shooter was one of them.
No officers were injured when the suspect shot at them.
The suspect’s identity has not been released.
