ROWLETT (WBAP/KLIF News) — Runners will be taking the streets of Rowlett tomorrow morning to continue raising money for tornado victims.
The second annual “Rebuild Rowlett 5K” takes place Saturday morning at 8:05 with the goal in mind of raising $10,000 to help those displaced by the deadly 2015 storms.
The group Rowlett Strong says they’ve already raised about $50,000, but their end goal is $60,000. They say roughly 200 or so runners have signed up already, but that’s not much compared to last year, when around 2,000 ran the race.
Rowlett Strong says they’d like to double their current number for Saturday’s race so they can hit that $10,000 goal.
