Dallas County Reports 90 Mumps Cases So Far This Year

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — Dallas County has provided an update on this year’s mumps outbreak.

The Health Department says there have been 90 cases in 2017 — 69 of those connected to the recent outbreak in Cedar Hill ISD. The county has also confirmed four related cases in Desoto and 17 unrelated cases in Mesquite, Desoto and Dallas.

Dallas County Health and Human Services is encouraging everyone to get vaccinated, especially considering the number of cases in Dallas County alone.

If you receive the vaccine twice, you are considered immune.
