IRVING (WBAP/KLIF News) — Classes will pick back up Monday at a North Texas college after a student was shot to death on campus last week.
North Lake College will have counseling services and therapy dogs available to students and faculty when they return — five days after the school went on lock-down when Janeera Gonzalez was shot and killed.
The college will also have a memorial on the north side of the campus library. On Facebook, North Lake encouraged students to stop by and add flowers to the memorial.
North Lake also posted to Facebook that the family will hold a vigil in Gonzalez’s honor tonight. It will take place at 7:30 pm at Irving High School, where she received her diploma.
