QUINLAN (WBAP/KLIF News) — Search teams are now six days into their efforts trying to find missing retired Dallas firefighter Michael Chambers.

WFAA-TV photojournalist Mike Forbes says more than 100 people have been part of the search since last Friday, with search members including active police officers to off-duty Dallas firefighters.

He says the Hunt County Sheriff isn’t ready to call off the search just yet, in part because of his personal connection to the 70-year-old Chambers.

“He sees these folks every Sunday,” Forbes said. “He sees them at bible study, and it’s just really personal to him.”

According to Forbes, the sheriff has not put a timetable on how long they’ll continue the search. Police believe Chambers’ disappearance could be an abduction after finding blood in a shed on his property.

“You watch the guys come together, and it’s just real serene to see how everybody was just determined to come out here and get a resolution on this thing,” Forbes said.
