Plano High School Students Return to School with Heavy Hearts

PLANO (WBAP & KLIF News) — Students at Shepton High School in Plano returned to school Monday with heavy hearts.

Two 16-year-old students — Samantha Sacks and Lilly Davis — died over the weekend after crashing their car into a tree in West Plano.

On Monday, students returned to school for the first time since the wreck with messages of support.

The sidewalks and walls around the entrance to the school were decorated in chalk, with students writing messages like “we love you,” and “we are Shepton strong.”

The school tweeted on Sunday it would have additional counselors available on campus Monday when students return. The school was also open over the weekend with counselors available.

A Plano ISD official said the school typically has around five counselors available, but that they would have more throughout the day Monday. She was unsure about plans regarding vigils, memorials, or additional counseling provided throughout the remainder of the week.

Shepton High School has around 1,500 students.
