My oldest daughter just started her senior year in high school. I keep asking myself how this could be??!! It’s seems like yesterday that she was three months old, jumping up and down on my lap with little springs in her legs.
It’s hard to believe in less than a year, we will be packing up the S-U-V and bringing her to college. Of course, we still have to go thru the whole application process, but that will work itself out and by May 1st a decision will be made!
I find myself trying to enjoy every last minute with my daughter while she is still home. I linger at dinner a bit longer to enjoy our conversations. I stop by her room while she is doing homework, just to say hi and I try to make every moment count. Every day that passes, we are one step closer to a half empty nest.
I’m not a very nostalgic person. I really like change, but I’m not sure I’m ready just yet.. But, by the time we take my daughter to school I’m sure I will be mentally prepared. I’m excited for what the future has in store for my daughter. I’ve given her the tools she needs to spread her wings and soar and I know she’ll do just that!
