Singing Away the Pain

IMAG0740[1]Dallas (WBAP/KLIF News) – One week after the attack on Dallas Police that left five officers dead and seven more wounded, about 650 singers from across the Metroplex come together to heal through song.  It was something they all needed, says the organizer.

“This is an event in response to the tragedy of last Thursday night, of course,” said ‘Dallas Sings, Dallas Strong’ organizer Jonathan Palant.  “But in reality, we’re here to heal from all the various tragedies that have been going on in our world of late.  We’re here to sing our peace.”

The concert was held at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, and was simulcast by Minnesota Public Radio.

Palant said choirs and community choruses from across the Metroplex gathered on the stage, including a number of churches and synagogues.
