DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Former President George W. Bush was in Dallas Monday to welcome wounded warriors who will compete in the Invictus Games in Orlando next month.
President Bush is this year’s honorary chair for the international Paralympic sporting event for injured or sick veterans.
“The challenge is how do we help them transition from military life to civilian life, and the Invictus Games give the Bush Center the chance to do just that by talking about the unseen wounds of war,” President Bush told our sister station, “The Ticket” (KTCK). “Some of these people who get hurt are able to go back to their units… The courage and the willpower of these vets is remarkable.”
The Invictus Games will be held May 8-12 at Disney’s ESPN World Wide of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.
