CITY OF dallas:
Thoughts on Federal Control on Funds Accepted by Cities - Saturday, August 15, 2009

Okay, it seems that quite a few of the other KLIF city council have a leg up on me, already having two or three postings.  I'm looking forward to working with this group.  I believe that we can really make a difference in the city of Dallas and the surrounding cities.

I had a thought last night, that being  cities taking money provided to them by the federal government.  I wonder that in the same way that money was provided to General Motors and Chrysler Motors, and were consequently taken over by the federal government, if that could not also happen to city governments.  If that is true, could that not affect the decisions that councilmembers make if there are certain requirements attached to the funds received.  I believe even if council members were trying to do the right thing, they could very well be forced to cooperate based on the acceptance of those funds.

I've heard many times that if the government says we're here to help, run and run fast.
